1. Introduction
Welcome to PULSAR (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how Dzhavid Kerimov, an individual doing business as PULSAR (“Operator,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the PULSAR mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: Name, email address, date of birth, gender, and profile photo when you create an account or sign in using Apple, Google, or email authentication.
- Onboarding Data: Running experience level, race goals (distance and target date), weekly running frequency, preferred training days, current fitness level, and injury history.
- Post-Run Check-In Data: Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE), energy levels, sleep quality, and soreness areas.
- Coach Chat Messages: Messages you send to and receive from the AI coaching feature.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- GPS and Location Data: Precise geographic location collected at approximately 1 Hz frequency during active run tracking sessions only. Includes latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, and accuracy metrics. Location data is collected ONLY during active run tracking and is NOT collected in the background.
- Run Performance Data: Distance, duration, pace, elevation changes, cadence, and other running metrics calculated from GPS data.
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, app version, and language settings.
- Usage Data: App interactions, features used, screens viewed, session duration, and crash reports.
2.3 Information from Apple HealthKit
With your explicit permission, we read and write the following data types from Apple Health: workout data, heart rate, active energy burned, and running metrics.
HEALTHKIT DATA COMMITMENT
HealthKit data is NEVER used for advertising, marketing, data mining, or sale to third parties or data brokers. This is prohibited by Apple’s HealthKit guidelines and our own policy. HealthKit data is not stored on our servers unless you explicitly choose to sync it.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and Personalize Services: Generate AI-powered training plans, provide GPS run tracking, deliver post-run analysis and coaching.
- AI Coaching: Your onboarding data, run history, check-in responses, and coach chat messages are processed by Google Gemini API to generate personalized coaching. See Section 5.
- Improve the App: Analyze aggregated, de-identified usage patterns to improve features and fix bugs.
- Communications: Service-related notifications only. No marketing emails without your opt-in consent.
- Safety and Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws and legal processes.
4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Service Providers
We do NOT sell your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers, who act as data processors on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect your information:

Note on AI Processing: Data sent to Google Gemini API is transmitted via HTTPS. We send only the minimum necessary data. Raw GPS coordinates are NOT sent to the AI — only aggregated metrics such as total distance, duration, pace, and elevation gain.
Note on Subscriptions: RevenueCat receives only anonymous identifiers and subscription state. It does not receive your name, email, run data, or health information.
We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or other legal process; to protect our rights, property, or safety; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case you will be notified before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. AI-Generated Content and Data Processing
- Not Medical Advice: AI-generated plans and coaching are for informational purposes only. NOT a substitute for professional medical advice or certified coaching.
- No Guarantee of Accuracy: AI outputs may contain errors and may not account for all individual health conditions.
- Your Data and AI Training: Your personal data is used ONLY to generate personalized responses for you. It is NOT used to train or fine-tune AI models. Per Google’s Gemini API terms, prompts and responses sent through the paid API are not used by Google to train its models. If this changes, we will update this policy and obtain your explicit opt-in consent.
6. Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
- Run and GPS Data: Retained while your account is active. Raw GPS coordinates may be purged after 12 months, retaining only aggregated summaries.
- Coach Chat / Check-Ins: Retained while your account is active to maintain coaching continuity.
- De-identified Data: May be retained indefinitely for analytics, as it cannot be linked back to you.
7. Your Rights and Choices
7.1 All Users
- Access and Export: Request a copy of your data by emailing privacy@pulsar.coach.
- Correction: Update profile and onboarding data directly in App settings.
- Deletion: Request account and data deletion; processed within 30 days. You can also delete your account directly from within the App.
- HealthKit: Revoke access at any time via iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
- Location: Disable via device settings. GPS tracking requires location permission to function.
- Notifications: Manage in App or device settings.
7.2 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
- Right to Know: Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- No Sale or Sharing: We do NOT sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

7.3 Other US State Privacy Laws
Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia may have similar rights under their respective state privacy laws. Contact privacy@pulsar.coach to exercise them.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:
- All data encrypted in transit (TLS / HTTPS).
- PKCE authentication flow for secure sign-in.
- Row-level security on database access.
- Passwords hashed using industry-standard algorithms; never stored in plaintext.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s Privacy
PULSAR is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact privacy@pulsar.coach and we will delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
Our servers are located in the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the US, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice and an updated “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
